Smiling she snuggled deeper into his arms and let out a happy sigh. Everything was going perfect, she was truly falling for this guy. She looked up at him and smiled softly. “Can you take me home now?” She didn’t want to move, but she wanted to get out of this dress and into a t-shirt and shorts.

He’d never be as happy as this in his life, he had finally got what he wanted, something he knew he couldn’t, but he found away to change it. For once he hadn’t decided to go get himself killed, at least he had made that choice tonight. The only other thing he had on his mind was Stefan, he would probably find it, it was too obvious, and he still loved Elena, so he would kill him at any chance he got, but now wasn’t the time to worry about it. He removed his arms from around Elena, he pushed up her chin so he could take a look at her, staring into her eyes. ”You’re beautiful.” He leaned in, kissing her lightly, and then smiling. ”I will gladly take you anywhere.”

She snuggled in his embrace as she smiled at his words. Things finally felt right to her, not fake, or guilty, but right. She loved this feeling and would do anything to keep it. “I guess you could say that I started liking you when you first saved me from that ritual. But I realized that I loved you when I almost lost you to that damn wolf bite.” she mumbled shuddering at the memory.

He wanted to stay like this forever. Her in his arms, everything calm, no arguments, no tears, no death, he wouldn’t let any of that happen anymore, he would keep her away from everything. He closed his eyes and smiled, with his arms safely around her. Tonight had to be the start of something new, Damon was finally realizing what he had, what he didn’t want to lose. ”You will never lose me.”
